Airbrush

I learned airbrush specifically for being employed in costume. Airbrushing creates a distinct impression that is often under-utilized in costume construction.

Corsetry

I was instructed in the fundamentals of corsetry and understand the finer details of corset making, including the importance of specific fabrics to type of boning used.  

Draping

I am adept in pattern draping, and have made numerous garments implementing this skill. Combined with pattern cutting, I'm well versed in creating my own patterns.

EVA Foamwork

I have years of experience with versatile EVA foam, having used it to create flexible but light body armor, accessories, prop weapons, horns, masks, helmets, and more.

Goldwork Embroidery

I learned goldwork embroidery as a skill to further enhance costumes through fine detail work and have experience in couching, cutwork, and embroidery.

LEDs in Costume

I have experience in wiring LEDs within hard and soft costuming as well as an understanding of specific materials which best amplify the lighting.

Pattern Cutting

While newer to pattern cutting, I am quickly advancing in experience and have utilized pattern cutting to create various complex garments.

Applique

I am proficient in applique as well as reverse applique. Additionally, I have utilized reverse applique in tandem with LEDs to create distinct glowing designs in costume.

Costume Props

I have created an array of costume props - from high density foam spears to striking, light-up headdresses to dainty, stylized picnic baskets.

Dyeing

I have extensive experience dyeing, and have dyed a range of materials from natural fibers to synthetic. Additionally, I have ample experience in mixing custom dyes to match specific colors.

Fabric Painting

I am highly skilled at fabric painting in implementing meticulously fine details that are otherwise too small or specific to execute.

Jewelry Making

I have several years experience in jewelry making, and am particularly proficient in beaded and metalwork jewelry. I have a good handle with jewelry tools and have even paired these skills with foamwork.

North American Smocking

I based my conclusive university research project on the study of North American smocking. I researched and am adept in a multitude of smocking patterns as well as understand the advantages and impact certain fabrics portray when smocked. 

Wig Styling

I understand the principles of wig wearing and maintenance, while also having experience in styling and cutting wigs.
